Is it just hoppier styles of beers that do it? Tried a helles or mild or porter or anything like that?

Miller Lite is probably the worst with their triple hopping technique.

That vortex bottle just shoots the hops right to the dome.

so far

I admittedly mostly drink IPAs and sours, so I haven't fully experimented with the less hoppy beers

Great Raft just released one of my favorite pils, so I'll give it try and see how I feel

I'd be careful with pils, too. It's pretty hoppy despite what many people think. When I brew my pilsner, I use more hops in it than I do an American pale ale.

I had just figured I had lost some tolerance when I cut back but it only happens when I have IPAs, never happens with sours or other beers or booze. I had an Urban South Snoball Juice just a few days ago and didn't even finish it because I was starting to get a headache. Looking back now all my worst hangovers/pukes over the last few years have involved IPAs and it feels like it's progressively gotten worse over time.

Could be residual sugar left over in the beer after fermentation. I would imagine IPA/IIPA's pack a lot of it in addition to carbs. There's a reason they're 300+ calories per beer.

I can’t do hops anymore either. They just wreck havoc on my body. That’s why you don’t see me in the FBD threads anymore.

No migraines, but the next day everybody within 20 feet of me knows that IPAs give me the bubble-guts.

For the past year or 2, what I thought were hangovers, appear to be migraines being triggered by hops.

I was really confused because most of the time, these "hangovers" would occur after drinking a single beer or sometimes just a few sips. Sometimes the migraines would be so bad that I would vomit.

And I wouldn't experience the same thing with cocktails or liquor.

Anybody else like this? Or have it suddenly happen to them?

Because this fricking sucks as I enjoy IPAs tremendously, but I can't drink them anymore.

I played golf with someone last weekend who said he had gotten terrible migraines that lasted well into the next day after having one or two drinks the last few times. So he wasn't drinking, but his was alcohol with him, not just beer.

Not a migraine but yes, certain IPAs will give me a headache the next day. I have found Jucifer to be one of the worst if I drink more than a 12 pack in a night.

pils can have high hops. Find a traditional hefe like Paulaner or Weihenstephan.
