Do any of you actually keep up with weekly series on TV?

Just noticed that American Idol apparently wrapped up recently. I knew it was starting but had no idea the season was already over. It made me think that I have never in my life kept up with a show week to week as it progresses.

I’ve always just watched it all at once on Netflix after it finishes. The only show I watch regularly during its scheduled slot is LivePD. I don’t know how people have the time and commitment to watch a show every week for months at a time.

They use a DVR.

We've kept up with many series, but rarely do we watch them live on the date they air. Sometimes we don't find time one week, so the next week we just watch two.

I seriously haven’t kept up with a TV series, as in can’t miss an episode kind of TV watching, since Cheers. Outside the occassional show or documentary here and there, I find television in general to be very boring and unworthy of my time and attention.

I love how you you phrase the question as if someone is wrong or weird if they do it, as if your way is the cool, hipster way or something

Thanks for providing your incorrect interpretation.

Do you also wonder how people have time to watch LSU play every Saturday for 4 straight months? Or the Saints play every Sunday?

It isn't that hard to keep up with a few shows, especially with DVR and on demand.

Personally, Billions is the only show I am currently watching and that is never live, usually Monday or Tuesday evening.

The last show I actually followed week to week was Lost. And even that was just the first two seasons. Definitely more of a fan of binging over a week or two.

eta-forgot about GoT. I've watched at least a third of those live.

Young people have no idea how ridiculous this is. When I was growing up you had to wait all week for your favorite show. And if you missed it, too bad. No VCR, no rewind, nothing.

Ive watched every episode of the Americans this season live. Other than that, I watch about 4-5 shows a week and am lucky to catch one live each week.

I remember those days well. That's why I love on demand tv.

My wife and I typically watch NCIS, Bull, and NCIS:New Orleans every Tuesday night. That's 3 hours. It's not that hard if you actually want to watch it.

At the same time, that is the only night of the week we really watch TV. We may turn it on after the little one goes to bed, but we typically don't watch much beyond Tuesday nights.

No. I did not have a TV for 30 years or so. Got one three years ago and have turned it on twice. Once to watch Houston flood and the other on Thanksgiving day.

Same at my house. I usually fall asleep by the first commercial of Pride and his gang though. I get up early.
