"You are what you eat" still holds true. No amount of fat is beautiful propaganda changes the fact that if you eat processed shite, plastic, garbage, and never exercise you will be unhealthier and live a shorter lifespan. No way around that fact.

I highly recommend to everyone to check out the Yuka app. It's totally free and lets you scan barcodes to see what harmful additives are in your foods and shampoo, deodorant, etc. It's not hard to make conscious choices for your family, but it does take a little effort.

Look at any small town in the south where the diet is sweet tea and fried chicken. Everyone looks awful.

There have been many instances of people eating horribly and never exercising that live long relatively healthy lives. I mean our current president lives off McDonald's and KFC for God's sake

I've been more mindful during the week of my intake and trying to keep everything as fresh as possible. I even make my own salsa (1000% better) and trying to get multiple servings of fresh fruits and vegetables during a normal day.

There's a word for this, it's called anecdote.

Two without having to even think.

Donald Gorske, a man from Wisconsin, holds the Guinness World Record for the most Big Macs eaten in a lifetime, having consumed over 35,000 since 1972. He typically eats two Big Macs a day, one for lunch and one for dinner. Despite his daily Big Mac consumption, Gorske maintains that his cholesterol and blood sugar levels are normal and that he is otherwise healthy

the former president’s private plane was stocked with what they called “the four major food groups”: McDonald’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken, pizza, and Diet Coke.

The New York Times once reported that Trump consumed up to 12 cans of Diet Coke a day

...Okay.

Surely you can comprehend that this is not common. Are you trying to say that they are "relatively healthy" BECAUSE they eat horribly and never exercise? I mean, look around next time you are in public ANYWHERE you are in the US. At least 75% of folks are walking timebombs and insanely unhealthy. We are fricked as a nation if we don't do something.

You realize they wrote those articles because of how unusual their diets are, correct?

I guess hard drugs are a good idea since Stevie Nicks and Keith Richards are still alive.

The majority of Americans eat like complete trash and the average life expectancy for US residents continues to go up every year. Genetics play a much bigger role in your life expectancy than diet.

No, that's the role of modern medicine increasing life expectancy. If we didn't have meds for diabetes and hypertension those life expectancy numbers would be different.

Tell me about those genetics in the life expectancy numbers in 1900.

A far worse chemical is sugar. It’s in almost every processed food. It’s addictive and promotes premature aging.

I hate to tell you this, but you're just factually incorrect. Our life expectancy in the US has decreased (and of course increased relationally) a few times in the last 25 years. It's certainly not a steady increase like you're eluding to.

You repeatedly mention Trump numerous times for some bizarre reason, as if this is a "Gotcha". Trump is the US President with access to literally the best medical treatment in the World. You don't believe this may play a bit of a part?

“Trump”
Trump is a freak of nature, reportedly Warren Buffett eats like shite,MacDonalds and Diet Cokes ,never exercises.94 years old and still sharp mentally. So I would say he’s in the same category as Trump.

Spend some time in the medical world and you’ll come across people like that occasionally.Eat like crap, smoke for many years, drink lots of alcohol and yet live to a ripe old age with minimal infirmities.

They are definitely not the norm
