My wife's birth father got one from his other kids for Christmas a few years ago. CONGRATS, he got a new kid too!

These DNA test kids have revealed a lot of secrets over the past several years (for as long as they been available).

I know a girl (I say girl she is around my age) who recently found out her father was not the guy who raised her and was told was her father. Like she had no idea. The father who raised her passed away within the past few years..

She reached out to the guy who was her real father who confirmed it (her mother and passed years ago as well). She wanted to go over to his house and meet his family and just sit down and talk. She told him she wasn't looking for money (her and her husband do pretty well), etc and he told her that was no problem. Then his wife told him she did not want her family to be "contaminated" with his past and that he thought it would be best if they have no contact with each other.

I am sure there are a lot of interesting stories out that that is the product of these DNA kits. I did mine a few years ago. It didn't reveal anything I wasn't aware of.

Do Ancestry.com, it’s got a lot more resources she can use to research ancestors than the others. It’s a far more mature product.

If you served in the military, they already have it.

We got one of these, I don’t recall which one, for my parents a few years back. It was no surprise that my parents from down the bayou are 95% French. It was a surprise to get contacted a few years later to find out my great grandfather pretty much had a whole other family.

This shite happened to a friend. She grew up her entire life thinking she had 2 siblings, only to later learn that dear old Dad had sired another 2 kids with 2 different women, other than her Mom.

If you don’t like your in-laws, then it’s a win when a couple of them get popped for cold cases.
