WTF has happened to the BR concert scene?

It's shite. The only 2 concerts I have gone to in BR was Poison and 311. Every other concert has been in New Orleans.. I have also been to one or two in Lafayette, but I am going to check to see who is coming to BR in the next several months, I will be surprised if it is anyone who has had a hit in the 21 century.

WTF has happened to the BR concert scene? I saw some great shows up there in the late 80's / early 90's.

I can't find it for you directly but over the years, some articles have surfaced about this very thing. As well as some OT threads. The bottomline it's a combination of poor promoting/incentives as well as Lafayette's Cajun Dome becoming more viable regional spot outside of New Orleans.
There was a HUGE concert drought in Baton Rouge in the 90s. That much is indisputable.

Stevie B routinely sells out shows at the Cypress Bayou.

After LSU lost to UGA in 2013 I was so angry I drove from Baton Rouge to New Iberia after the game to go see Stevie B at the Sugar Cane Festival. I needed to be in a happy place. I am shamelessly a HUGE Stevie B fan.

Speaking of Timmy T and facebook. I was his Facebook Friend and in March it was the anniversary of his #1 hit "One more try".
I tagged him in a video of that song on my car stereo while passing Blue Bayou Waterpark.

He loved it and commented in the post. My jackass friends let it turn to shite about jackin off using my tears during a Timmy T song and other typical shite.

Add him on FB. He's a raging Republican in Fresno which makes for funny posts. He posts like your average friend, not a D-list celeb with some platinum records under the belt.

Don't Go Away by Johnny O is the best Freestyle song of ALL Time.

In My Expert Freestyle music opinion(I have a spotify playlist of over 200 Freestyle songs and still own over 50 Freestyle cds).

My ringtone is the first Freestyle(The genre snuck up in the era between disco and edm and there's some dispute about the actual first Freestyle Song) song, Let the Music Play by Shannon(1983).

I had their CD+G for the Sega CD. That was revolutionary at the time to listen to music and watch graphics and videos on your video game console.

If you follow any Freestyle Playlist on Spotify, it'll have all these artists among many others. Do it.

Also Lafayette's Kingfish Playlist is full of Freestyle music as well.
