1. osis pockets
2. itis infection-inflammation is felt.

you can buy smooth ground almond butter and cashew butter.

no more random nuts in candy bar or restaurants salads.
any little bits get in the pocket and festers.

seems weird you didnt get anti biotics.

over 25k USA dead annually from the itis.

Any gastro that isn’t living 20 years in the past will tell you this is false. Chronic constipation is the only real link they’ve found to chronic diverticulitis.

Just what two young surgeons and two young gastros told me. I trust younger doctors more than those that went to school 40 years ago.

Well, if there’s something I’m not, it’s constipated. Clockwork and at least 2 times a day.

I downvoted but didn’t mean to. That was me two weeks ago. I told them I’d stay two weeks if it meant I didn’t have to get one. Thank God it worked out.

I take12 gas of psyllium fiber every night along with as many fruits and vegetables I can eat. I’ve had 2 attacks. One I had to fly cross country hoping it wouldn’t burst and one I spent 2 nights in the hospital watching for complications which did not develop.
Water, fluids, roughage and fiber. No episodes in about 15 yrs. but I shite like a plow horse!

Worst pain I’ve ever had. No position at all will get you comfortable. Popcorn and nuts are my nemesis.

I had the same experience. Emergency surgery but then the reversal was much quicker than that. Problem is the reversal didn’t work and had to do it again all over followed by multiple hernia “patches”

It is a nightmare I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy

Let it heal and then find a really good colorectal surgeon and have that part of your colon removed robotically. You will have problems with it for the rest of your life if you don’t get it resected.

Lay off the seeds and nuts permanently.

After a colonoscopy I was told I had diverticulosis, I said I guess no seed and nuts. Gastroenterologist said there is zero evidence of any connection.

I am currently at home recovering from surgery where they took about 10” of colon out. Back in Feb, brought myself to the hospital thinking it might be appendicitis. Diagnosed with DVT with a preforation. I’m 60 so I am not bouncing back from this surgery as quick as I thought I would. I stayed in the hospital for 4 days in Feb and was just treated with antibiotics

Same. My bowels perforated. I went into the hospital, them thinking I was a pillhead looking for a fix. Even the ambulance thought the same. It happened late 2020. It took me 16 months to go from poop bag to non-poop bag. Although, insurance was a part of that.
