Disney’s move comes two days after a passenger on Disney California Adventure's California Screamin' pulled out the stick midway through the high-speed roller coaster, prompting operators to halt the attraction. Passengers were evacuated and the ride was stopped for at least an hour.

Well I meant on vacations in general. Just saying you can get your picture taken without looking like an idiot with a selfie stick.

I don't see the functional use in selfie sticks

Or if you are traveling with your SO....just ask another couple to take your pic and you will take theirs in exchange.
we tried this for a family picture a couple of weeks ago with a few random people. The first guy cut my son out of the pic. The second guy cut out the Brandenburg Gate which was the whole scene for the picture. Third guy didn't know how to use the camera. Kept pressing the wrong button and stuff.
I don't have a selfish stick, but I wish I had one then.

Absolutely....but that would mean you would actually have to interact with a stranger. People are to self-involved these days to do that.

My wife just had to have one for our trip to Chicago in April. The only people running around with the damn things were my wife and hundred of elementary aged Asian girls

I mean, I can see the benefits of one. I would just be too embarrassed to actually use one in public.

agree to a point. They are EVERYWHERE in Europe. Shocking how ubiquitous they are.

We got back from Disneyland last month. Every Asian had one.

It was ridiculous! Glad Disney made this move!
