re: Disagree with government on Covid restrictions? Well you’re going on a terror watch list

Correct. He thinks I'm infringing on his families autonomy while wanting to force government to help him out.
That's incredibly selfish and weak.

And what about those who are currently ineligible for vaccination? What about those who are too young to keep a mask on? What if some members of my extended family present dangers to members of my immediate family?
300 people under the age of 17 have died from covid. Let's just assume that it was 100% due to covid, that's a statistical zero.
Besides, as a vaccinated person, I can still give your unvaccinated family members covid, so your point is completely moot.

The progressive wing OWNS the Democrats right now.
Sanders and Warren lost in the primary, and the Manchin and Sinema have outsized influence in the Congress right now. IDK I think you're wrong about this point, at least as things currently stand.
And at any rate, I personally would prefer a European-style social capitalism hybrid system in which the state closely regulates markets and provides public and social infrastructure that makes everyones' lives better. So I'd reject the premise that "progressivism" is a bad thing.

You keep harping on this point, so I'm guessing this is a big thing with you.
Pointing out your completely unjustified arrogance is harping? I have no problem giving people the reality check they need. The fact that you keep responding to it shows it obviously bothers you though.

Sorry you feel insecure about your own intelligence. That is really not my problem.
“Sorry you feel insecure about your ability to protect yourself and the people you care about from a respiratory virus with a 99+% survival rate. That is really not my problem.”
See how that works? Or is that too advanced for you too?

You’re not capable of talking down to me.

I'm trying to explain the liberal perspective, which is that collective voluntarism has failed during the COVID 19 pandemic and therefore some level of government intervention is necessary, warranted, and constitutionally justified.
Mandating vaccines, destroying small businesses, forcing children to wear masks in perpetuity, etc. is “some” level of government intervention to you? And you don’t understand why people are correctly pointing out that you’re a facist?
Tell me again how I’m “threatened” by you.

Biden and Kamala won, Biden turns leftward 90 degrees. Biden isn't even a puppet. He's a sad ole man reading script.
Democrats are progressive and not liberal.
Your liberal ideals died a decade ago

With respect (which you clearly do not reciprocate), I disagree that it is selfish or weak. In fact, I see it as an appeal to collective strength and unity and see your actions as selfish.

Worthless when it comes to public safety.
Not when the context of human immunity is so overtly social, as it is the prime example of group selection. For better or worse, group human immunity is only as strong as its weakest member. You can deny the biological aspects if you like, but it won't change the nature of infectious disease.

Do you want to force government to protect your family at the expense of others?
You said you did. That's a shitty authoritarian approach.

You're giving me nothing but noise at this point. I heard you the first time. You think I'm arrogant. That's your problem. I suggest you find a way to deal with it.

The ones in the government do, but there are idiot Karen moms throughout the country that think their kids are going to die from Covid and are quite frankly abusing their kids even if they don’t know it. How about we look at the actual numbers: out of 75 million kids in this country, only 349 so far (at least from Thursday) have died from Covid all of which had major preexisting health conditions, so if your kid isn’t on their deathbed already, then the chances of your kid getting killed by Covid are currently at 0.00000%. I brought that number up last night and showed it to that guy and he still said that’s too risky for the kids even when I brought up the flu and pneumonia are more lethal to kids than Covid.

How much personal liberty are you willing to give up in order to get that system of government? Because you'd essentially have to shred the US Constitution to get that. Are you willing to give up your 1A rights? Your 4A rights? How about your rights to due process? Your rights to choose your healthcare provider?

I'm in favor of state and local authorities implementing common-sense COVID protections. If you see that as coming at your expense, then all I can tell you is to get the vaccine. Problem solved. It's not that big of a deal. Be a man and stop whining about it.

Why would you assume that it is necessary to give up any personal liberty? In fact, people would be more free to pursue their own aims, not less free.

That's not American style progressivism. Europeans are ashamed of American progressives.

Is your family vaccinated? If so, who cares. Unless you have a kid with leukemia on the verge of death, your unvaccinated kid isn’t going to die from it.
