Don’t mix it in your fuel unless you want to buy a new motor. It’s injected in the dpf filter to burn off soot. My truck is in the shop getting all that shite deleted right now.

Thanks for clarifying.

Now I know why I see the Oh no videos when some trucker accidentally fills up the truck with DEF instead of diesel.

They should make the nozzle a different shape or self snapping so it can’t go in the diesel tank. Just like the make the diesel nozzle a little bit larger to not fit in your typical gas tank. But dumb arses still manage to do it.

and what shop is doing this illegal business?
Anytime i ask anyone about it they tell me they won't do it.

I need to get a new filter since mine has my check engine light on, then i want to delete all that crap. Trying to find a used DPF to put on to get the light to go off first since you can't delete it with that check engine light error on.

enlighten me on how to ask non FBIey.
I have looked into doing it myself but i really don't want to. There was a company in Canada that sends down something you plug into your truck to get data, then you send it back to them and then they send it back to you ready to delete.

the important thing is that all of our government vehicles are exempt from this requirement, because we need to ensure that the government diesels are simple and reliable.

Have fun with that if it's still under warranty.

Cheaper than continually having emissions related issues out of warranty. Cost $2k to replace sensors years ago. Side note a deleted diesel gets better fuel economy go figure. The government has royally fricked up diesel engines in this country

I don't even understand what it's actually doing in regards to the environment.

We can't let the ugly black smoke billow out the back of the diesel truck, so we'll capture that smoke with this DEF until it clogs up a filter, and then we'll burn it off until it unclogs the filter.

What the hell is the difference between the chemicals from the black smoke entering the atmosphere, and the chemicals from the black soot from the black smoke being burned off and entering the atmosphere?

Also that def is highly caustic along with being toxic plus it’s extremely temperamental to environmental conditions. shite will cut your breath if you get a sniff

What truck and where are you located? New filter is around $5k if you get it deleted you won’t even have to worry about the filter just get it straight piped. Proper tune you shouldn’t roll coal that’s just dumping raw fuel ie “running rich” and as cool as it may look that’s also no good for your motor. I just got mine back and gained 9-10 mpg by letting it breath properly.

But is non-caustic (safe for skin contact*) and is non-toxic. It is corrosive to some metals, especially Al. The pungent smell is from the ammonia given off by the urea breaking down, not a smart idea to huff it.

How did you end up with so much bad information?

* urea is used in lotions and creams for some skin conditions in a higher concentration than in DEF.
