Yes, had a favorite uncle. Right up until he murdered my grandmother then killed himself.

Yes and then as I got older I started noticing how weird she was. She is bat shite crazy. Always has been. Funny what perspective and age does lol.

He was a 20 year old kid who just did 13 months in Vietnam in 1968… Ever hear of the Tet offensive?

Ya think he gave a shite about people’s feelings back then?

I wonder what you did as a 20 year old? I bet you’re one of those people who judges someone on shite that happened 50 years ago.

My uncle had a country place that no one knew about. He told me it used to be a farm before the laws changed. On Sundays, I would always be excited to take the train out to his place. Out in in his barn, he had an old red sports car that he kept in great shape, just for me. I'd take the car out driving on the twisty country roads, it was awesome. This one time, a couple of cop cars started chasing me. They were on my arse for awhile, but I was in the zone, shifting and drifting. I finally lost their asses at the one-lane bridge they were too big to cross. I raced back to the farm, and my uncle and I sat around the campfire talking about the old days. Good times, I miss my Uncle Neil.

My favorite uncle was my mom’s baby brother. Taught me to play chess, about cars, took me fishing and even kept me a few times in his college dorm.

Then, when my grandmother died and his was the only other name on her account, instead of splitting it among his other siblings, he proceeded to spend my grandparents life savings of several hundred thousand to pay off his home, buy himself some land and cars for his kids and wife.

I wouldn’t have believed it before. Now I have zero respect for him and not really much to say at all.

My favorite Aunt is my dad’s older sister. I was her first nephew and we’ve always been very close. I consider her more of a second mom. My favorite uncle is my mom’s younger brother. He’s only 11 years older than me so he’s always been like more of an older brother to me than an uncle.
