Did you ever have friends that you realized later on really were secretly out to get you?

Over the last several years as I reflect on my younger years and early adult life I’ve come to realize that some guys I was friends with really were out to get me in one way or another. Examples below:
1) guy turned out to be gay and cockblocked at some when some wild stuff on at least two occasions. I didn’t know he was gay until a decade later.
2) another guy always cockblocked me but made it seem like he was joking. Never knew if he was gay or not but he never liked to go to the bars but when he did if always would ask the chicks hitting on me if they were into butt stuff. This dude is no longer around.
3) “friend” attempted to get another friends pit bull to bite my neck right after I finished petting the dog. Thankfully the dog wasn’t a crazy dog.
Is this common to have jackass friends throughout your life or did I have a way of attracting the biggest losers and closet queers?
