I never did.

My dad finally quit when he died of lung cancer.

Horrible habit.

I use to smoke. I still do but I use to too.

Yeah. I know its horrible but I like it. Honestly I'm more disgusted with piles of lard that can't stop shoveling junk food into their mouths. They can't even fit into regular clothes so they go around wearing elastic looking like blobs of cottage cheese.

Sorry not sorry

I’ve never been a smoker, but I’d smoke 4-5 cigs per night when I was in college going out. Not a better feeling in the world than being pretty buzzed and then smoking that first cig sending you to being fully fricked up

Pack + for 25 years. Had a heart attack last September and while I was in ICU I made the decision to quit. Having 3 days with no access to any cigarettes helped get me going. I used a nicotine free vape and nicotine full gum for about a month. The vape started tasting like shite when it was running out and I just never bought another. Quit the gum for lozenges and those gave me bad hiccups so I quit eating them. Been nicotine free for about 11 months.

1 pack a day for 10 yrs. Chantix helped me quit for about 7 years. Started playing around with it a little off and on for about 3 years. Cholesterol wasn’t the best so I started running and haven’t touched one in 6 years.

My dad smoked 4-5 packs a day for 20+ years. Got some weird acupuncture procedure in the 1980s and never smoked again and was almost immediately disgusted by the smell.

He quit young enough that he avoided any major health problems, but he has developed some other problems in old age that I think are probably related.

Started in my teens socially and smoked around a pack a day from my 20’s until my mid 40s. I had quit a few times during that stretch but always went back. Quit about 6 years ago cold turkey. I basically forced my wife to quit at the same time and that was the key. Still love the smell, especially on a crisp fall day. But haven’t cheated a single time. Not so much as a drag. Only way to really quit in my opinion.

I smoked for 22 years, about a half a pack a day on average more during sporting events / drinking. January 11th 2011 I decided to quit cold turkey and I have been tobacco-free in all forms since then. I figured my health wasn't getting any better as I got older and the prices were just getting higher and higher I figured I'm going to live longer if I quit and I did it cold turkey because in the past I had tried gums and patches and just didn't work I had to just gut through it and do it.

I smoked for about 10 years and quit when my first child was born. After about 2 weeks of quitting, I regained my sense of smell. It was then I realized how bad smokers stink. Filthy habit.

I saw a pack of marlboros at an airport shop this summer for sale for 24 bucks a pack.

don't ask me how I know (don't ask Super Saint either) but it's a lot cheaper to just do heroin these days.

My maternal grandma smoked for like 80 years. She never had complications. When she fell and broke her hip the second time, the hospital would not let her smoke. I think that’s what killed her. (First time she broke her hip, a nurse would sneak her out to smoke)

My paternal grandma also smoked until her 60s, she never had any bad side effects from it. Died when she was 94.

I smoked when I drank occasionally for 6-7 years. Started smoking sober for less than a year and up and quit that shite. It's been 4 years next month since my last cig

I only smoked when I drank. That was quite often at times.

I cant imagine playing pool without beer and cigarettes.

Not so sure about that at least when you're in the rockies where the air is already thin. Smoking doesn't help. Somewhat of a reason or just joking with you guys.

I started at 16 (1976) and quit at 30 (1990). In 1990, I had 2 young daughters, and I decided that my chances of seeing them grow up, walking them down the aisle, and being a significant influence in the lives of my grandkids would me much better if I did not smoke.

I got a sinus / throat infection, and didn’t smoke for a week because it burned my throat so badly. At the end of that week, I continued my streak of non-smoking days into 2 weeks, then 3, etc.

Pardon the cliche, but a walk of a thousand miles starts with one step. Do it; you won’t regret it.
