Why is Osteen sleazy?

Seriously, I’ve only seen him a couple of times so I don’t know. The few times I’ve listened to him he seems like a chill, straightforward preacher. He doesn’t ask for money or sell you end of times food buckets like I’ve seen Jim Bakker and others do. He doesn’t fake heal or fake faint people.

What am I missing?

Very likely though he's supposedly being taught by a pastor who is a John MacArthur disciple (and MacArthur is fairly solid).

Then again Osteen reaches a lot of people and he sees him as an avenue to tell his story.

Not during his services; this dates back to when John Osteen agreed to have his services broadcast, he insisted that the offering not be shown so as to not give the money-hawking impression, Joel is simply continuing that.

BUT you get requests to support him at the beginning and end of the broadcasts, as well as invitations to join him and Victoria at his gatherings.
