I believe this is why the "University of Louisiana" brand is not applied to a public school in Louisiana.

God bless anyone who has tickets to see any upcoming future events in the Cajundome. Apparently, they didn't spend enough money on seats (or they just wanted to pack people in for the almighty dollar-probably both). The new seats they put in are small. The crowd for the graduation probably had to spread out for comfort sake. We went for a boxing event last weekend and everyone was complaining about the small seats. Granted they put new armrests with cup holders, but if you don't pull them back, either the person next to you will or you will just not have adequate seat space. It's Gonna be shite show of complaints for the upcoming Garth Brooks concerts - lol... With all the big people in this region-prayers sent for that run of concerts... F U Greg Davis!

calling ULL "little brother" is giving it way too much credit. it's more like a retarded cousin.
Auburn is Alabama's little brother. Michigan State is Michigan's little brother. ULL is NOT LSU's little brother.

That makes no sense. Universities are named when they're founded. They don't wait and see which ones are more "competitive" in whatever.

I would say that Tech is probably more in that role but that's kind of an odd classification.

ULL has switched names 4 times since it was founded.

I didn't say that was what they did. In fact I clearly stated "no" when you ran with that straw man.

You literally said exactly that twice now.

there are two "university of Louisiana" schools & several more in that system.
pretty much every state is the same way. the flagship (which the UofLouisiana does NOT have) is what people come to know as "University of state name".
your own state is the has the University of Alabama Birmingham, Huntsville, and Tuscaloosa.

LSU does not have a little brother

Why do LSU fans who are so confident they are the best school in the state worry about how an inferior state school labels themselves?

Florida may be one of the other exceptions.

ULL is NOT LSU's little brother.
But that would mean LSU zero little brothers.... I was just thinking the next step down when it comes to public schools in the state.
ULL, UNO, Tech, McNees, ULM, SU are all on that next tear if guess.... with ULL, Tech, and UNO I guess making a claim for the logical step below LSU for in state public
With the next tear being some group of Nicholls, SLU, NSU, GU, SUNO

The school in Tuscaloosa is just University of Alabama. It was founded in 1840something. As for UAB and UAH, they started as extension campuses of U of A in the 20th century.
It's not like the stars held back he title of "University of Alabama" and later decided to give it to the school in Tuscaloosa because it was more "competitive". It was simply the U of A from the day it was founded.

Correct. The "University of Alabama" branding referencing the flagship institution in that system and the headquarters of the church of Alabama.

Tech is a top tier school (like LSU) and the highest ranked in the UL system, but I believe ULL offers more degree programs and enrolls more students.

well ULM wasn't founded until the 1930s and i'm not sure about ULL.
