good way of putting, not too far off, maybe more like that Clint Eastwood movie where he is a DI and has all of those misfits he shapes up and takes them Grenada

The common areas had windows that looked out on the ramps inside the stadium. Theoretically you could get access that way although they were probably locked. At a game we went to when I was a youngin I peered in one of those windows. There was a poor guy in the little lounge area trying to study.

Say what you want about HPL but he would have gotten the Loop built.

Early 90s. I walked right in no problem and had dirty sects on the fifty.

The last few years of use the dorms had AC window units because the Special Olympics were held on campus in the '80's. They didn't want the special olympians to bake in the summer heat but were fine having generations of male LSU students bake their asses off.

One of the funniest stories I have read on this topic from this board was about a guy describing how he rode to Baton Rouge with his dad, mom and girlfriend to move into the stadium dorms his freshman year. They moved him in and his dad, mom and girlfriend rode back home leaving him there. He called his dad a few days later and he told him that is mom and girlfriend cried the whole trip home because it was so bad.

West stadium, 5th floor, fall 1980. No AC, Radiators for heating in cold weather. No elevator. We had a hallway bathroom that had a stadium shower with two shower heads and no wall between them. The toilets had a waist-high divider wall between them, with no door.

A testament to procrastination in filling out your housing application, it was both retched and glorious

ALLEN: Is that a raincoat?

BATEMAN: Yes, it is. In '87, Huey released this; Fore!, their most accomplished album. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Hip To Be Square". A song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends. It's also a personal statement about the band itself. Hey, Paul!

Speaking of those dorms, are there any old timers on here that lived in those? Always curious of what that was like.

I didn't live in them but had friends that did, they were the ghetto of dorms, old, run down, no AC, but known for some absolute wild arse debauchery

Me too. Never lived in Stadium, but had friends that did. They also kicked students out on game days and locked the big outside gates. Makes sense b/c you wouldn't want the general public roaming the halls, but sucks if you didn't get a ticket to the game.

Except I didn't have to crawl through 500 yards of shite to get out, just go down 5 flights of stairs.

Lived in North stadium. The thing I hated most was the booming announcements early on game day, to come move our vehicles out of stadium parking

Also, came home late one night at the end of the Thanksgiving break. As I approached my stairwell, I heard very unusual noises. Very unusual. Since I had parked close, I just backed my way to my car and got inside. After a few minutes, Mike the Tiger wandered out from the stairwell.

Eventually more people started showing up to their dorms, so we were escorted to the stairs, and told to stay in our rooms
