I had these in 7th grade. Talk about a fad. I was so excited to get them for my 13th birthday and bought pipes and wax to grind on. They were heavy shoes though, I remember one time I forgot my cleats for baseball practice so I had to wear these and it was miserable.

My best friends had these:

Did you wear those with JNCO jeans and ski goggles?

I never got into the JNCO fad

At my school you either had heelies or soap shoes, it was like two warring faction camps

When were these a thing?

I must be old.

Or young.

Or something.

That would make you an 18-year old senior, which is what it’s supposed to be.

Is that what you Mom told you? You start school at 5 years old. 5 + 12 does not equal 18.

Don’t think everyone’s birthday is the same as the start of school. Most were 17 and turn 18 during the year.

You can turn 19 in September of your senior year and be eligible for sports. 99.9% of athletes are at least 18 by the time they graduate.

My 18th birthday was my first day of college but I was definitely the exception.

Glad I missed out on this whole shoe fad. I’ve never even heard of them until now. I graduated high school in 2001.

So how old were you when you were a senior?

Those look like skateboard shoes I use to wear when I was in 7th grade. DC's and Etnies were so dope in middle school late 90's early 2000's.
