People all over Facebook talking about how his statue may come down because of his ties to the South as a General during the Civil War.

People are so stupid...

We all know he crossed the Deleware on Christmas night to defeat the Germans during Waterloo.

People repeat what they hear. They know Jackson is from that era, know he did bad things, so they assume it had to do with the Civil War.

Then they make Facebook posts about it so they can sound smart.

I can understand (not really) people not knowing who he is in other parts of the country, but here in Louisiana, he had a major role in saving New Orleans from the British (even though the war already over). Everyone in South Louisiana should know who he was.

In 1860 we took a little trip
Along with Andy Jackson just to see a little nip
We though it was the Mardi Gras when chicks would flash their rack
But it was really Decadence when homos would attack

This angers me so much. How do people believe this and not know that Jackson was our greatest president? Defeating the Bank of the United States is perhaps the greates feat ever accomplished by a President. Throw in his personal integrity in how he handled the Eaton affair and slander against his wife, plus paving the way for American expansive Westward, and handling the Nullifaciton crisis he truly is a legend.

You do know that Jackson adopted an Indian son and wanted him to attend West Point. But by all means keep reading Norm Chomsky. Jackson defeated vicious Indian tribes such as the Seminoles and gave protection to other Indians from tribes as vicious as the Seminoles.

Maybe this will help the historicly challenged.
In 1814 we took a little trip
Along with colonel Jackson
Down the mighty missisip
We took a little bacon
And we took a little beans
And fought the bloody British
In the town of New Orleans

Which is why he's one the greatest Presidents ever. He killed it and made sure it stayed down as long he was POTUS.

Unfortunately, that's why we have the sick joke of his face on the federal reserve note 20 dollar bill.
