On the OT if you don’t like something it has to suck. You can’t simply just not like something because it is not your preference.
I haven’t been to Destin in years….simply because I’m over going to super crowded places and trying way too hard to have fun. I love the beach but hate crowds so I seek those kind of beaches and there area plenty of them once you realize FL is not the only place in the world with sand and salt water.
Anyway…just because I don’t like going to Destin anymore doesn’t mean it has to suck. OP seems irrationally bitter.

Destin did it to themselves. Greedy landowners wanted to stack as many high rise buildings in the area as they could. Over time, prices drop to try to keep those places full, brings in a new clientele.

the panhandle used to be a cool place, I go there at least once a year, for our daughter's birthday usually, only because my friend has a condo there with a private beach and she offers it to us whenever we'd like to go, once we stock it up we don't go out to eat or do touristy stuff, I like to go to the AF museum, we rented a boat a couple of months ago, other than that we pretty much hang at the condo

Prices haven’t dropped hrs just bring a troll. Condo rentals have doubled since Covid at the condo I stay at. Housing prices are thru the roof and people are buying houses. Destin is thriving.

Staffing has been an issue is Destin for 15+ years. There’s a reason so many Jamaicans are brought in as temp labor.

The numbers arent down. They are up. Yes, i agree, staffing is an issue everywhere there. Prices have risen like crazy.

A friend and I were regulars for CFB and the like since they opened on the harbor.
In the last 2-3 years, we haven't gone except for the Super Bowl to see of the guys we used to watch games with.
The quality of food and personnel (incl mgmt) dropped plus the traffic (from Mary Esther/Navarre) made it less than worthwhile.
They remodeled it a few years ago but they may not be enough. Plus one of the original owners passed away a number of years ago...
