Based on this portion of the testimony Chauvin was authorized to use force, as he was making a lawful arrest, and per the Conner test Floyd was resisting arrest and I think you could argue attempting to flee by pushing himself out of the other side of the cop car.

Also, someone on counterfeiting isn't arrested but someone on drugs, behind the wheel of a car, would be arrested.

really seems like the State has switched their questioning

I would think this may end up hurting them instead of helping. Nelson seems to have a well thought out game plan and he is sticking to it.

Yep, they need to prove he killed him, procedure(s) are out of the way due to the nature of the situation being outside the norm

I agree, Reb. I only knew of guys like Cronkite, who just told the news, when I was growing up. The last 5 years has been an abuse of power.

Cronkite was biased as well.

He just wasn't blatant about it like today's "journalists".

So if he did not follow department procedural guidelines, does that come with a 30 day suspension, a week, or what? Is he on trial for breaking inner departmental rules?

o that Chauvin should have known Floyd was high out of his mind and handled it differentl

BUT didn't Floyd deny taking anything or did he just not tell them what he took?

Apparently this Police Chief sued Minneapolis PD in 2007 because of racial discrimination.

He did tell them he wasn't on anything and he wasn't that kind of man. That's why this switch in questioning is strange.

Floyd was in a manic state and was talking out of his mind so I doubt he was understanding anything they said. He did tell them once he had been loopin (?) earlier which is street slang for sticking solid or liquefied crystal meth in your anus but refused to ever say the name of any drug he was on. I doubt the police knew what loopin was.

Yes. He said he wasn’t that type of guy.

So at first look, the Chief didn't see anything out of the ordinary.

They just went through the manual proving it was part of the training.

Now the affirmative action police chief says it’s not part of the training.

Until he saw a better close up video.

Sort of like the Zapruder film. The film of Kennedy getting shot from the other side of Dealey Plaza didn’t show anything out of the ordinary except for Kennedy leaning over.

And then, I’ll be damn....the Zapruder film shows his brains being blown out.

MPD officers have a DUTY to provide medical aid per Policy.

I don't think that has much bearing on a criminal trial.

At least you are admitting it. That is the first step.
