Tax evasion generally is a federal charge. Normally audits take several months at best.

Except when it is for evading state tax liability. In those cases, there is no federal jurisdiction.

Even then it takes a while. In Louisiana it usually takes about 6 months at best. You have to be warned and given time to comply with records requests, etc. 6 weeks is a frick job on steroids.

Has anything more come out about Chauvin being involved in some shady business involving the club that him and Floyd both worked at some? I remember seeing a lot of talk about that a month or so ago. Thought I saw he owns multiple homes too? Something ain’t right

Yep, that guy is into some shady shite no doubt. Went from too poor to pay taxes to purchasing a second home in Florida and a $100k vehicle. Where’d that income come from?

I’d like to point out that this wasn’t in any old part of Florida, it’s where the serious money lives. Cops in Windermere can’t afford to live there, how did ol Derek make it work?

Should’ve been paying his taxes.

Having been through the IRS audit process, I can assure you that most people have fricked up something on their taxes in the last 5 yrs. The federal tax code is thousands of pages long of legalese bullshite. I'll reserve judgement on this dude until we actually see what they contend he fricked up.

Failed to timely file. Failed to disclose almost $500,000 in income over 4 years. Failed to pay sales tax on a vehicle.

The Chauvins haven't yet, but I bet that is coming soon or already under way.
