I can't help but hope that he's kicking arse and making progress. It's been a month today that he has been at TIRR in Houston.
Prayers continue for Nick and his family.

jb I'm assuming it's very positive if there is a press conference about it. I'm sure there is still a long road ahead of him but any good news is great news!

Nick can see, hear, communicate with nonverbal yes/no, he can read, he can identify family members, follow commands.
Limited endurance, poor neuromuscular status, contractures.
eta He knows he's in Houston.
Out of bed and dressed every day; 3-4 hours of therapy daily -- PT, OT, ST.
He can move his head although it requires support due to spasticity.
He is NOT MINIMALLY conscious ... HE IS CONSCIOUS!!

He has a long road ahead, but my goodness, he's a miracle already. Nick obviously has a will to live no matter what and his family has strength that is incredible. So very impressive.

Absolutely. One of the therapists just said "we ask him if he's tired. He may motion yes but when we ask if he wants to stop he signals NO". Sounds just like he's gonna kick arse and get to his functional potential.

was he shot in the head or something? Just curious how serious his injuries were since he's this bad off.
