I'm not saying that ALL these are the case, but i was the CFO for a venture backed hard tech company and i could write 5000 words on why government assistance is key to devlop hard tech and OCED was a HUGE part developing new technology in this country. Sad news.

Cutting 290K jobs is not the problem
The problem is that 290K jobs were created to push that BS on everyone. Basically getting for nothing

The sad reality is that most of the money given out never gets to its intended recipient, for its intended purpose. People are tired of being grifted by our honorable “public servants”. I, for one, am for almost any measure that cuts off the gravy train to these leeches.

These articles always do a poor job of breaking down what was a loan, tax credit and direct pay. It's hard to see what the actual impact is of anything without understanding if it's just uncollected taxes, a loan with a repayment schedule or actual cash out the door.

wellll. I was president of a Fortune 500 company that went broke overnight when Reagan equalized US. and world oil prices in the early 80's. Poop happens.
