I went out deep sea fishing today for 14 hours, 40 miles deep on the Gulf of Mexico. I didn’t think about a single damn thing once happening on land. It was all about drinking beer, slaying fish and just being happy. Once we got back to the dock and after cleaning the boat and fish, I still didn’t think about any of the problems going on land.
Perhaps you should go out and book a charter boat fishing. It’s very therapeutic... every though it can be hard work, but we had an amazing day out on the water
Hang in there.

How do people downvote this? Stay strong man. Find some hobbies. Running helped me a lot. It sounds stupid but it works wonders. Even just walking an hour a day helps. Find some hobbies and throw yourself into them. If not running go to the gym and lift weights.

I’m gonna hit up the golf course tomorrow. I’d be down to go fishing. I’ve gone maybe 3 times in my life. I’ve caught a total of 1 fish. I’m pretty shitty at it, but I’m sure it would be fun.

I’d been hitting the gym pre Covid. Where I am, it’s closed back up because of the spike. We do go walking a bunch. I’m too out of shape to run very far. I know I know, we all start somewhere.

Hang in there. This year has been dog shite, but I have looked at things with some positivity (work from home has been very useful, spend more time outside, saved some money), but yes, the sports has been tough for sure.
The only thing that has sucked is job stress and dealing with pissy customers/clients, but that was there before CV.
Hope everything gets better for you and I'm kind of in the same boat. Hang in there

I went to Northern MN and the Badlands of SD earlier this year and I had my phone on airplane mode most of the day. Didn't care about the Covid, didn't care about the riots of MPLS, didn't look at social media, all work-related calls that went to my VM got a reply stating they won't hear from my until I'm back, it was great.
Totally dis-connecting was fantastic.
It's hard to do that at home, but I need to shut things out more IRL.
Good for you to do that and your fishing day. That's great you got to focus on yourself and enjoy yourself.

Hang in there. I’ve dealt with bouts of it from time to time over the last decade. I find the things that work best are find things you can accomplish. Small projects, exercise. Anything you can set a goal and make progress towards.
This will sound sad, but ever play Minecraft? It’s like video game Legos. If I need to space out I play that. Build a world. There are tons of stuff online for ideas.

Just checking in on you baw. How are things holding up? I to struggle with OCD, mild depressions and anxiety. I have been on meds for 15-20 years and I am currently going through some med changes right now which suck big time. Ironically the previous poster mentioned Minecraft. I have 2 boys who have begging me to play Minecraft with them so I gave in. Sure enough I don’t really think about much when playing.
