Denver police are evacuating part of the main terminal at Denver International Airport to investigate a possible security threat.

An alert sent to FAA and TSA officials said a K-9 detected something suspicious in a package. That package is currently at a ticket counter at curbside check-in on the west side of the main terminal, according to ABC News.

All traffic is being routed to the east side of the terminal.

DIA officials have opened the emergency operation center and are working to confirm if there is a credible threat, sources tell Denver7.

Airport officials said officers are evacuating the west side of the terminal, levels 5 and 6, between doors 600 and 610.

It's safe to say that NORAD is an impenetrable target. Probably going to be a bag that was left unattended, and someone finally called into security to report it.

Bomb sniffing dog alerted a hit. Cleared out the west side of the main concourse to investigate.
