Lili didn’t break up - she tore Lafayette up. In Youngsville, the metal posts and our wood fence were bent over flat against the ground and part of our neighbor’s chimney was in our back yard.

Yeah but imagine what would have happened if Lili didn't break up.

I didn't have a single problem at all here in Youngsville for Lili.

It was hit or miss in our subdivision. Our next door neighbors had severe damage, while we only had a downed fence and debris from their house.
When we drove back into town, there were large oaks down in downtown Lafayette.

hmmmm... wasn't expecting 44 mph in Mandeville. No big deal but certainly could knock out power... nothing but mature pine trees around here.

Last night at 6 he was calling 117 MPH gusts in Laffy and that we had never seen anything like that before. I was here for Lily and I KNOW we had bigger gusts than that

Lafayette didn't sniff 117mph gusts for Lili, but Intracoastal City did.

Everyone remembers Lili falling apart in the last 12 hours (fell from 125 kt to 80 kt in 13 hours), but she was still a bitch for surge and wind damage in Vermilion and surrounding parishes.

Um what is “lifting” in these terms??

It has basically allowed the storms on that side of the hurricane to grow taller and become stronger.

She was booking it too. Averaged over 17 MPH forward speed the last half day.

Autumn steering currents frickTheWhat!!!

It's so much easier to predict these storms compared to the doldrums of the mid-latitude summer.

I remember it was supposed to hit Lake Charles dead on I think and shifted bigtime over night just before it hit, or did id just implode? LC barely got anything from it.

No man. Came straight up our arse from directly South. I think it may have run over some cooler water churned up by a storm a few weeks earlier. Sounds familiar...

Looking at this radar from windy why such a big jump for gust projections with the ECMWF model compared to the others? That one is 79-80mph gusts, but the GFS, METEBLUE, and NAM all have 55 or lower as the projections.
