It’s a myth that this assclown is always where the worst weather is. He (or his producers) makes sure he is nowhere near the bad stuff.

Oh you mean LC’s mayor has been touting the city’s service. They got some company riding right behind checking them.
Unfortunately, it's not as easy as just going out and picking it up and it causes frustration for people who just want shite out of their front yards. I've worked cleanups when I was still in college to make some extra money and FEMA has very specific documentation requirements for local governments to get reimbursed for debris cleanup. The upshot is that the documentation adds time to everything, but if the drivers want to get paid for the load they've got to document everything properly because the local government has to have the documentation to get reimbursed by the feds. Those drivers and companies working the cleanup get paid by the load, so they want to do as many loads as possible as quickly as possible just the same as the people with debris piles. However, the process has to be methodical to make sure every place eventually gets covered and everything's got to be documented just right for federal dollars. The process has gotten more streamlined over the years, but it still slows the whole thing down pretty significantly over just being able to load up debris and haul as fast as you can.

All true. What goes on behind the scenes is certainly eye opening.

I was in Gretna for Katrina. Can I be counted too?
A) What were you thinking staying in Gretna for Katrina?
B) You're a solid maybe. Belle Chase NAS registered 67kts sustained, but Gretna is on the "better" side of that measurement. Maybe you can take the place of the guy that stood in the wind tunnel.

Hey Slack, all of my hurricane force wind experiences have been short lived and in the form of tornadoes. Can I at least get in on an asterisk or something?
Posted on 10/7/20 at 11:15 pm to slackster
At the time I worked for JPSO, so I didn't have a choice. As for the wind, I was outside when it knocked JPSO's 100' radio tower down. It had to be blowing at that point.

A real friend would offer to help.

My family is living in campers like gypsies. At least this time they can roll away to find shelter at a friendly circus. What’s not to love?
I know it may not seem like it now but it doesn't rain forever. Eventually the sunshine will come.

You know, you're right. I'm going to edit my post. I would appreciate it if you did the same.

From you, we're going to need documented proof. Notarized. Sorry, that's just how it be.

Yeah Belle Chase measured gusts right over 100 mph. That's clearly no joke.

We'll probably need that kind of help to get to 50.
