It’s rather boring and com-a-la is rather bitchy... but I’m still on the thread!

Gustav eye passed over New Roads so about 20 miles from Baton Rouge. That close to the eye on the East is pretty strong. Sixty miles may be tropical storm force winds so not at all like Gustav. Still a slight bend East would make a noticeably stronger hit.

Oh yeah, that's where I get all my important info--dudes on facebook.
It's only 2nd to old people who share every post without a second thought as to whether it's true or not.

That list should be protested. Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries lists Marsh Island as 71,000 acres, which is roughly 110 sq miles. Don't let Maine take our rightful place @ #6.
Also, the list I saw had Padre Island at 46 square miles, which is quite the discrepancy.

I mean I say some dude but he is better than all the people on tv and literally has been correct in everything he has predicted on storms. But ok. :).

What map are you viewing?
The ensemble member strength is not to be used for a novice.

Are you Gustav Bros evacuating or riding it out?
At this point riding it out, see no reason to leave...

To be fair Wikipedia is fricking us on the count too.
Ultimately Marsh Island is 55th largest in the US. What a blessing.

So Baton Rouge no longer in super danger?

I mean, unless it's Joe that runs SWLA Weather (who is an actual meteorologist if I'm not mistaken), then it's just some random arse dude on FB that's probably regurgitating what the NHC says.
ETA: I am mistaken. But the dude was hired to be a weather consultant for Baywatch, and that's more than Robby P can say.

Outflow is impressive. Something about this offset image and color palette reminds me of a satellite image you'd see of a 1960s storm.

How was Gustav for Baton Rouge? Were there even hurricane force winds?

I'd say BR has had a good day with respect to Delta.

It is Joe.
I follow a couple more but him the most. And the other two I follow get lots of their info from him. Idk why it matters who I get weather info from as long as it’s good info.
