Anyone having low water pressure from sinks on northshore?
Semi-pro tip for anyone wondering if they have plumbing issues. You can have problems now (a burst pipe) and not know it, especially if it is a hydrant. It would have burst and froze quickly, and being away from the other fixtures it wouldn't be noticeable with the ice plugging the busted line. As soon as it warms above freezing that ice plug will melt, and you'll know. You'll have an immediate drop in water pressure and will probably hear/feel the vibrations of a rush of water. That is when the panic sets in and your arse catches a high gear quicker than you thought possible.
Yeah, I've been there, and I'm hoping I'm not there again today. We dropped to 7° last night.

Yesterday was awesome. We woke up around 7am and immediately went outside to enjoy the snow. It was hard to go back inside once we were out there.
I have a 1 and 1/2 year old Catahoula Pit mix and she was loving it. She was doing zoomies in the snow and trying to eat it all. We took a ton of photos, and had a blast making snow angels.
We have our MIL staying with us because we have a 3 month old and my wife was supposed to go back to work this week but we dont start daycare until 2/10. She was clearly not a fan of the snow. She only went out a couple times to take our photos.
Overall it was a great day, but I'm ready for it to melt.

It won’t melt off enough to get back to somewhat normal activity till Thursday afternoon. Some may melt today but it will freeze again tonight and so will the roads.

The overall trend is steady warming-- heck we had constant heat for five straight months in 2024, from mid-May to mid-October, and played arguably the hottest football game ever in Tiger Stadium on September 21.
But, in 4 of the last five winters we've had spells of extreme cold. The pattern seems to be setting up as one of more unfavorable weather events-- extreme heat, cold, fires, hurricanes, droughts, floods, etc. It seems as if the planet is in full-scale rebellion against the most powerful force in the known world: mankind's own self-will.

Who else is dealing with curfews etc?
Lafourche parish has gone full nazi. Closing down the parish another day.
This bullshite policy they have is for vehicles being on the road. Last night they are harassing me walking home from my neighbors at a reasonable time. It’s absolutely infuriating.
fricking cocksuckers with the parish sitting in their asses today. Ought to be firing up the tractors and clearing these roads. Not waiting for the snow to melt.
They can’t be this inept.

Over the weekend heard a Met on 870 say we’ll be above freezing Wed so we should be back to normal Thursday. Remember thinking how TF can he say that at this point.

I'm sure it's already posted in here but if it has I'm sure it bears repeating
NOLA has a bigger snow pack right now than Chicago
BR's snow pack is bigger than NYC's
There's more snow along the Gulf Coast than in South Dakota
