I have an offer from one and an interview with the other next week for an Operator's position. I don't know anyone at either location so I would like to get some opinions on both regarding pay, benefits and work environment.

Might want to start to look into this considering one job has already been offered

An offer on one and you don't have info on pay or benefits?

They pay the same, or nearly the same.

Benefits are near the same.

Work environment is near the same.

Your personality will fit in better with one place better than the other, but that is why they have the personality test when you enter.

The fact you didn't ask about upward mobility is telling.

Exxon. With Exxon, you will get a chance to move around as an expatriate around the world. Shell will only keep you within America. Exxon is American while Shell is Dutch, so you will have a better shot of getting into upper level management with Exxon.

Take the Shell offer. Interview with Exxon. Then make your decision if Exxon offers.

It ain't like you are signing a 5 year contract.

He's hiring in as an operator. The chances of him doing upper management are small, and even those small chances are decades away.

I do, but not the other. Still waiting on the interview. Just looking for some opinions on both companies.

Do you know of a difference between the two in upward mobility?

How many years experience did you have before these offers?

From what I hear Shell pays more than Exxon and they have big bonuses. I have seen operators clear 14K on the yearly bonus.

Yeah I took the Shell offer. Just trying to prepare if Exxon makes an offer so I'll have an answer then.
