Several were killed over a period of time crossing Nicholson from Tigermart in the early 90’s. One girl was in my speech class in 91. Really sad.

Can’t remember the guys name - Hank...it was Hank - who used to yell at people leaving the Circle K on a bull horn, hidden on the roof of the building across the street...that was awesome.

I remember Hank. I even used to talk to him. I'd see around Chelsea's, The Bayou, and Library Joe's. But he was banned from Library Joes for awhile. In fact I'd see him and talk to him at some parties on State St.

Back in the late '80s on of the Mike the Tigers was killed in a car accident. I remember driving by it not long after it happened. He was following behind a lawn guy and the trailer hit a bump going over a bridge sending a mower airborn. Landed in the guy's windshield. I remember the car was on of those big Buicks/Olds/Lincolns was in some bushes. The entire roof had been sheered off, but that may have been from the first responders trying to get him out.

that happened right by my parent's house and i passed by the scene just as BRPD arrived. probably the most gruesome thing i've ever seen. fwiw, the trailer was being pulled in the opposite direction, popped off the trailer ball (no safety chains) and swerved into oncoming traffic.

I was at LSU 2008 - 2014, off the top of my head...

- Grad student jumped off the life sciences building
- Some kid hung himself in a dorm
- A girl got hit crossing Nicholson (near Pluckers I think)
- Another kid got drunk and ran off the road into a ditch and was missing for a day or two. Sad because I think he was on his way home from a party
- EDITED TO ADD: I seem to remember something about a student shooting himself in a field maybe near Ben Hur Rd.? Also I believe he was in a deer stand - I could be getting that confused with someone else.

That's all I can recall. I don't mean to disrespect any of the above by being brief, I just can't remember names/details that well. All tragic losses of young life.

As for the non-deaths but weird shite that happened...

- we had a convicted rapist get escorted out of the building during my 2L year of law school.
- Some guy in my Spanish class was really outgoing and bubbly, a drunk driver plowed into him one night while he was driving and he came in a couple of weeks later in a neck brace, face all messed up etc. and walked around like a zombie for the rest of the semester. Resembled a lobotomy patient, I felt really bad for that guy.
- Oh and I remember someone in an old blue Mercedes drove into the quad one morning, took all the stuff out of the car and threw it all over the place. I think he lost his marbles.

I remember the missing kid off of nicholson... He was in that creek that runs under the road in St. Gabrielle right before you get to the stop light past the U Club. I passed by the wreck 4 times in that 2 day span and never noticed a thing.

I also vaguely remember the deer stand incident. I think there were a ton of rumors going around about what actually happened but I think the kid ODed or something like that but didnt die... I could be completely wrong though

Yep, you're right. I can't imagine how many people drove by there over those couple of days and could have possibly found him.

FWIW, I found the thread about the kid who hung himself in Herget Hall in 2012 LINK

If I remember correctly Bo Rein’s aircraft flew about one mile from the town in North Carolina ? That he was raised in before crashing into the Atlantic.

Rein grew up in Ohio and played football and baseball at tOSU. He led the Buckeyes to winning the CWS. Drafted in the NFL and MLB. His plane flew over NC State (Raleigh, NC) where his wife and daughter were still living since they hadn't moved to BR yet. He was LSU's HC for 42 days and never coached a down

Derrick Todd Lee would have been about 14. Not impossible but pretty unlikely. She was EWE's niece, so it's not like she was a low profile case. No trace has ever been found.

Well, not by the system. Heart issue. Another poster said he was pure evil -- I agree 100%. Came eye to eye with him at the courthouse -- stared straight through me and I felt the evil. Never experienced that before.
