I bought a rental property and immediately after the neighbor sent me a certified letter stating my tree was leaning in the direction of his house and I needed to cut it down. This was per his tree service. I talked with a lawyer and he said get a licensed arborist to do a survey. It was a big yard and had to take down three trees but not that one. If the arborist says it heathy she does not have to do anything.

I would go up on my roof and cut the branch and leave my neighbor with cancer alone. KARMA has a way of catching up with you.

Most places allow this as a last resort.
