As is often the case in situations like this, there's more to the story:

From LINK

quote:

Since her arrest last March, Neatherlin had approached other inmates and asked them to claim they had worked for her. She also wrote letters to former inmates asking for bail money and promised to pay them from offshore accounts worth "a lot of money," according to the sentencing memo.

Neatherlin's rap sheet dates back to 2007, when she was charged with multiple instances of theft and identity theft. Court documents filed by the state describe her as having an "on-going, systematic scheme of doing what she wanted and getting what she wanted, without any concern for the danger she was placing others in."

So, witness tampering plus the fact this wasn't her first rodeo by a long shot.

Dude, she drugged kids to get them to sleep then left them unsupervised t work on her base tan. 21 years is getting off easy...regardless if any kid was permanently harmed

expecting my first and we're on waiting lists for day cares and they are so absurdly expensive.

Child care prices lead to shite like this happening.

My first is 9 months old and holy freaking shite you ain't lying about childcare costs That was my first thought, too--parents likely looming for any sort of affordable care and ended up choosing someone who betrayed them.

I don't agree with a 21 year sentence though. Less than half that would be more appropriate for the crime, IMO. Not my kid though so idk.

what if the place caught fire while she was gone and the kids were all drugged to sleep? Still an excessive sentence?

Of course not. That would be a murder charge, though.

I'm talking about the sentencing based on what actually occurred.

Good she endangered kids lives, throw the max at her

Not to mention she didn’t have the appropriate licensure

She’ll most likely serve 5 years out of that 21 though due to overcrowded cells and shite

The daycare, which was run out of her home, came under police surveillance after a tip from Neatherlin’s former roommate and boyfriend.
Hmm. Revenge?

What IF Ed McMahon’s prize patrol strolled in and all the kid’s parents got to split the money?

I mean if we’re playing the if game.

The sentence is stiff, but then again I didn’t have a kid there. I wouldn’t give a shite if they gave her death, had my child been involved.

You don’t even know what side effects may come up years later.
You can hardly give babies water or pedialyte for quite some time. Much less sleeping pills.

I hope she serves 10. She deserves that. This was intentionall and planned.

Yea but add to that she was leaving the kids after that for long periods of time. To me that’s even worse. Anything could have happened, fire, break in, or god knows what else.

Depending on the mandatory time served, I suspect she gets s parole hearing in at least 5 years.

Also...she lied to the parents and told them she was a registered nurse. That is also a crime that I’m sure she was charged for.

Don't understand why someone would lie about being a nurse.
