Building on the topic about Christmas Day itself being a let down (once you get past opening presents) what about the day after Christmas?
As a kid I loved the day after Christmas because all the family obligations were done. My parents would be wiped out and it was a day where I would be able to spend the entire day finally being able to play with presents. This was especially awesome whenever I got a new game system or even just new console or PC (back in the day, yes dating myself) games to play.
As an adult though I feel like the day after Christmas is the worst of the year. It's the big come down. The last 2 months have been building for the day and it's over just like that.
What about you, do you think the day after Christmas is the worst day of the year?
You are feeling this way, along with others that agree with you, because you are celebrating Christmas for the wrong reason. Read your OP to understand why. The answer is in there.

I agree, I do feel kinda depressed when Christmas is over because it’s a return to the everyday normal-ness when the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas feels so different and exciting because of the Christmas season.

You must not be from a big family. For some of us, it’s : Day 3, More People and More Drama

Try volunteering the day after christmas/during the holidays. It's about giving no matter who you are or what you believe. Two things have been scientifically proven to help mental health is working out and volunteering to help others. Depression is real during the holidays. Help out others!

No, it’s the Feast of Stephen which is close to my heart.
ETA: not to mention Boxing Day.

When it's a Saturday it's the best day.

Then not twins at all.

Kindred spirits.

Nah. I always find it relaxing. My youngest turns 3 tomorrow so it kinda makes the whole Christmas to New Years week a lot of fun.

It’s just another day. They are all the same when you do nothing but work.

I always hated the first day back at school after a summer break.
I miss being in like 3rd or 4th grade and riding my bike home after the last day of school, happy knowing that I won't have to go back the next day.
Just wish the old NES systems would have had a memory card.

One could argue Dec. 26th is the BEST day of the year, as it’s the farthest we’ll ever be from NEXT Christmas. I took my tree down before lunch, today.
