A buddy and I went to the D&B on Poydras the night of Sept 1, ate, and both used Amex cards for the meal. The server took the cards out of our line of sight for a few minutes to run them. This was the only place we both used Amex and had the cards out of our sight.

Tuesday night, Sept 12, we both had an attempt at unauthorized use of the cards, to the same web site.

Don't most servers always take your credit card out of your line of sight?

Amex called me Tuesday night and I verified that the attempted charge was unauthorized. FYI Amex is by far the best at blocking crap that I've seen. But I hadn't put 2 and 2 together with my friend yet, so had no info to give Tuesday.

I called this morning and reported the info I have. I don't think it's enough for them to act, and in any case I won't hear about it.

This actually happened to a friend of mine, but it wasn't an Amex, it was a kidney. And he died. Watch out.

Credit limit on cards? Do you use your credit limit to make subtle brags often or only when in a bind?

agree

AMEX is GOAT for protecting their members.

all i have to do is call and say 'charge x is bullshite' and they are like YESSIR MR CAD, already credited back and our team of investigators in our fraud department is on it.

i fricking love amex

Did he not stay in the bathtub of ice until the paramedics arrived?

Rookie mistake.

The point here is that it's the only place we went where that happened. If we went somewhere else and I paid cash, but he had his card taken out of line of sight, that place wouldn't be a candidate for fraud on both our cards. Or if we both used cards, but the server brought out a cube scanner on a smartphone, that place wouldn't be a candidate.

Chiccoutureonline.com

I believe this might be a counterpart to Sam's Mens' Fashions on Plank.
