dopamine reuptake inhibitor... basically, it blocks the pre-synaptic neuron from reabsorbing dopamine in the synaptic cleft, allowing the dopamine that is present to find a post-synaptic receptor site to illicit a dopaminergic response

I get it may be a ways away but Palmetto in Rayville, LA is a great place pretty much in the middle of nowhere, that many high profile athletes and celebrities have gone to. I have had a few friends go through and a one just get out l, that honestly I thought would never be able to kick it. But each one is doing great now

Some people do claim this. In jail, Wellbutrin is highly sought after because it’s dispensed by the jail and the inmates abuse it. Oddly, they also snort Busbar, which is also not supposed to have a euphoric effect.

Jail coke. Has a brief high but very meh
I disagree completely with rehab. Besides the fact it would do no good do you know she’s an alcoholic?? A 19 year old drinking is pretty normal. If she is there’s not anything at all you can do until she’s had enough and wants to clean up. You can’t force someone to get better, it just doesn’t work like that

That tough man, my oldest son has had similar issues. We have tried to help him but there is no helping someone who doesn’t want it. He has been in and out of rehab and/or jail for 2 years. I’ve realized that people with their issues tell you what they think you want to hear.
I’ve had to cut him off financially until he decides to help himself. I’ve talked to several people who have children with these issues and they all tell me the same thing “they have to want help”. I just hope he figures out before it is too late.

they claim this b/c they want that to be true, but again, it is 1000% a placebo effect... you could give them literally any non-abuse potential drug and they would claim that it's getting them "high"... but physiologically, it is IMPOSSIBLE for that to happen, as that's not how the drug works... AT ALL...

This is not a thing. Fake ‘disease’. Stop the alcohol and drugs and this magically goes away.
Get her in rehab then find the root of the issue. There’s a reason dependency on drugs/alcohol is there. Is not just about ‘quitting’. DO NOT LET AN AMERICAN DOCTOR PRESCRIBE MORE DRUGS.

I feel for you, that's such a horrible situation to be in. I have a cousin that we basically raised. I love him like a brother. He's very mentally ill and has always refused to take his meds. He's been in and out of mental facilities and prison for over a decade now. He's currently homeless and we have no idea where he is. It's destroyed my poor aunt. I wish you nothing but the best.

Wellbutrin can’t be used to get high. She is telling you that so you don’t freak out. It’s more than likely speed or opiates. This is somewhat normal behavior for college. Don’t freak out and push her away. Love her where she is and try to understand

no, it has no "high" whatsoever... it doesn't work that way, at all, no matter what method of administration you'd choose... you could crush that shite up and inject it directly into your veins and it woudn't get you "high"...
buproprion, and it's chemical moeity doesn't signal for the body to release dopamine, which is what you'd need for the user to feel "high"... the way it works is it only allows your neurons to use what you already have produced, as far as dopamine, a little longer than your body normally would... that's it

That is scary.
Hope she can get some help.

Wellbutrin isn’t something that one would particularly want to snort as in it isn’t going to get anyone a high. It’s possible she could be equating it to something that has helped her have positive feelings/results in life and thinking if she snorts it and higher doses maybe it will help???
I’d be hard pressed to think she hasn’t been more active snorting illicit drugs getting high regularly and she has grown an actual addiction to the snorting. Trust me it’s a thing. Addicts get just as addicted to method of consumption as they do different drugs.
yeah, this...

no, it's not "fake"... there are many, many people who are diagnosed as manic depressive and they've never touched drugs and are nothing more than social drinkers...

In Kentucky we have Casey’s Law. A judge can order mandatory substance abuse treatment. If she’s not agreeable to voluntary and continues to abuse, I’ll have to talk to the commonwealth’s attorney’s office to discuss next steps.

Might I suggest you try Alanon to start. It may be helpful in an awful situation like this. You can love your daughter and hate the disease at the same time.
