Dating in your 30's, does everyone have baggage?

It certainly seems that way, if it is not that they have kids, they have some sort of emotional baggage.

How many individuals do we have that can tell about their experiences dating in their 30's?

I think its all their own personal perspectives of 30s dating. Maybe they think everyone thinks theyre a loser because theyre dating in their 30s, and it sort of projects into their behaviors.

Too funny. Get out of my head.

I don't know if I have baggage, persay.... but I can often sense the presumption of baggage from the other side. To me - "baggage" is something that bogs you down. My life experiences have built me up... in everything but the marriage and kids departments.

In a way it's better, because you know there's baggage. When you're younger, the baggage is there, but you don't always see it.

Are you too old to have kids now?

Nope. Definitely still have to play it safe. Would be just my luck to end up with one now.

Most have kids. The ones that don't are usually infertile and/or have borderline personality disorder.

I'm sure there are exceptions. I just haven't met any.

If you're not married and have no kids, as far as the above 30 dating world goes..seems that's like a clean bill of health.

Last two people I've been in relationships with had a singular child and ex/marriage issues. I got so tired of hearing about custody battles and court issues. I've enjoyed being single and taking time to concentrate on things I need, art/hobbies and just the peace and quiet and overall less stress of being knighted into someone else's tragic kingdom.

Everyone has baggage...maybe not kids, but baggage. In your twenties, you're just too naive to recognize it.

It's rough. I've been dating 22-25 year old. But they don't want anything serious. Profit?

I got divorced at 34 and got caught up with a 42 year old widow... Not that she had baggage she just wanted to screw all the time and buy me shite[I would not let her]. But then her friends got involved and said the age difference would mess her up... Well that was the end of that... She regreted this however.... Started calling me all the time and wanting to hook-up... I banged her a couple more times and said that's enough.. You had me once and I wasn't going through that again....

Yes. I'm a generally optimistic person & finding dates hasn't been an issue, but the pool is smaller, most men have residual issues from previous relationships. But so do I, so I guess I'm part of the problem.

That's where I have to make it clear that I'll be a vacation... but not a relationship. I've worked too hard for all the things I have and not have weighty issues pulling down my good spirits. I have a few friends that I will go out of the way for...as they have done the same for me (and no sex, prior or potential, in play)... If I feel like I'm getting involved just to be a witness or a kickstand - No dice. Maybe that's MY baggage at work... but the fact that all that never pops up when there are no kids or exes makes me think it isn't.

With who you date, the odds of kids are pretty low.

Hey... That just thins the herd when guys can't handle my dating history.

The "oh shite" factor if I was to get pregnant accidentally would be off the charts.

my thoughts exactly...there is nothing more loaded down with crap than someone in their late teens or early twenties...

at that point, you are so blinded by hormones, that none of that matters...
