What some may or may not remember, back in 2012 BSL was indicted on 2 counts of 1st degree murder. One count was for Mickey, the other was for Lisa Pate of Youngsville. Lisa went missing in the spring of 1999, and her body was found several months later in Church Point. She had several young children.

BSL held Lisa against her will at a hotel for several days. She tried to escape by taking his keys when he was sleeping. He woke up and then choked her to death. While in jail for the sex offender charges, BSL confessed to another prisoner about Lisa Pate. For whatever reason, he was never arrested / questioned on the murder of LP until being arrested for Mickey.

I remember at the time Youngsville was buzzing about the Lisa Pate disappearance / murder. Sadly it took 13 years to solve this murder case. BSL pled guilty to both murders with life in prison sentence, in exchange for leading police to Mickey's body. The most important thing is both families (Lisa and Mickey) have some closure, albeit the murderer is still alive costing tax payers money

crazy how time flies as it seems like yesterday

Wait, he put his bloody clothes on y'all's property? When was this? I'm a little confused.

Ha, same here. Did they recover the shirt and give to police? Or did they have a burn pit where he tossed and destroyed.

I followed those threads closely. I remember when you had your oh shite moment and started editing the old posts after you gave away too much info. The drunk part of the story clarifies that now.

quote:

- I get the call from my friend..."it's him." 5 minutes later my FIL calls and tells me he went in and reported everything as well with the sheriffs dept. his guy called and said "it's him."

- another 3 weeks goes by and we have to sit down for fricking Father's Day. We had to sit there at the god damn table and look this frick in the eyes knowing he killed someone. He had this smug fricking look that I will never forget. My fists were literally clinched under the table. (Keep in mind only my FIL and our wives know at this point)

Why the wait? If they knew it was him, why was he still walking around? They had to have plenty of evidence at that point. He was already a suspect in another murder. He was literally a threat to your SIL.

Building the case I guess. We were pretty pissed about it. I know the FBI got involved and they were able to literally confirm everything aspect of the timeline with the phone records and gps coords.

He had no out by the time they arrested him.

The clothes were in his truck. He drove around to the back to throw it in the dumpster. That was a pretty big deal that added time to the case. Pretty sure they tried to locate the shirt at the dump.

"Why the wait?"

Chief Craft told me they had a GPS on his truck. And were hoping he would lead them to the body.

When his name started coming up on social media, they had to move in.

Brandon was a very intelligent and charming dude. It's scary to think how many people are out there who can fool people that easily.

Well the most famous and notorious serial killers in history have been charming smooth talkers that could make anyone feel at ease. How else could Charles Manson get a cult following going?

In fact, this is what made Ted Bundy so dangerous as that what he had to do in order to seduce many women and then do the fricked up shite he did to them as he did.

I've read a good bit about Lavergne himself and I have to say that it's a good bet that he has more victims that haven't been discovered yet and it's likely to stay that way.

I remember people initially thinking Adam was a troll. There were people posting things like "you should be permabanned", etc.

Glad he turned out to be legitimate. It takes guts to do what he and his FIL did.

I cannot fricking imagine doing this. What a story. Thanks for sharing the details.

I think everyone on here had an "awww shite" moment when somebody linked those two threads together.

Should write a book about it.

I suggest "Dining with Death" for a title.
