The chart is property tax *rates.* Property value in NOVA likely hasn't decreased since 2008.

The common tactic in Fort Bend county (Houston,) is that every billion dollar bond that gets voted on loudly advertise that tax "rates" won't increase. Except the county assessor increases the value of your home 25% in three years.

But rates didn't increase!

We have one that takes up about 20 acres close to us and my taxes go up every year

They should raise the rate, not reduce it.
