If the video shows five minutes of the cops being assholes to a drunk dude with a bb gun, it would sway a few on the jury to convict

It would also sway the public to push the DA to bring it to trial. As it stands, the DA is protecting the cop, which is exactly the opposite stance any prosecutor should take.

So, I can kind of see your point in that it's a catch 22. Either show the video and sway possible jury members pretrial, or suppress it and have the guy walk without jail time.

Either way the defendant walks, so I vote to release the video and have the public know what sort of POS they have running around with badges.

Christ you get more hack-ish every day. They charged the guy with second degree murder, what do you want exactly?

Also posting links from gawker as fact they're about to close up shop

He is pleading to crime, do you feel this way about every plea, or just the ones that cops take?

What? I actually think that DA's plead out far too many cases to begin with if that's your point, regardless of defendant. If they actually tried more cases, they might have to actually focus on the real criminals rather than fulfilling a political war on drugs.

So let me get this straight. You're OK with the public not watching a video of a tax funded public servant killing a man crawling on his stomach begging for his life. Then you think the appropriate charge is negligent homicide? Did the officer accidently pull the trigger five times?

They also offered him a plea deal that would involve zero jail time.

Guess it's just natural for a cop to feel "threatened" by an unarmed man crawling towards him begging to not be shot.

It is not natural that is why it is a uncommon occurrence. This "officer" screwed up big time and he is going to pay as he should. I personally feel that people that are put in positions of trust should have double the sentences that a private citizen would face. People like politicians, police officers, teachers, etc.

In her video, Sweet claimed prosecutors are working in Brailsford's favor.

"They dropped the news on us they'd already decided to offer a plea of negligent homicide which is a fourth degree felony, probation eligible. At minimum, he would walk on probation," said Sweet. "At most, he would serve 80 percent of 3.75 years. It's absolutely unfair for an officer to be charged with second degree murder and then walk away on probation."

I disagree with giving a plea deal. I don't have anything to base that on other than there's a guy dead at the hands of police officer.

I'd like to see the video too.

Dude, did you read ANYTHING in this thread? You just argued for pages, while completely ignoring what everyone was telling you...on those pages.

So now you're not OK with them not releasing it? Like I have said over and over, all I want is a trial where the video is played. That won't happen because the DA is covering for his officers. I am not shocked by this, but it sounds like you are. Did you not see this coming?

I am OK if they hold it for the trial.

Sweet previously declined an apparent offer from prosecutors to personally view the footage on the condition that she not discuss what she saw with the media. She recorded and published audio of that conversation on YouTube.

People who secretly record private conversations are punk arse bitches. Scum.

You started in on page 3. It's now page 5. You ignoring page numbers too? What in the world does there being loons on the OT have to do with anything?

You sat there and argued, and ignored EVERYTHING anybody was saying to you. But it's because they're loons.
