I personally have a friend that went into renal failure specifically from taking huge doses of creatine. That's exactly what the doc told him caused it. So you're right and the poster above is full of shite.

Your friend huh? Got any proof? Any scientific study? Anything?

That's what I thought, people say stupid shite daily and don't admit to taking other things. Also most doctors are dumb as shite when it comes to these things and automatically assume higher levels of creatinine in the body, which are a marker of poor kidney function means there is an issue with the kidneys. However, the increase in creatinine isn't due to kidney damage, but simply more creatinine being produced.

The more you know!!!!

But the super high protein intake is more likely the culprit. I know a guy who was in to bodybuilding and needed, and got, kidney transplant. Didn’t lose his leg though.

Yet all the new studies show even very high intake of protein(greater than 2* be) still have no affect on the kidneys.

Again, stop spouting myths and post scientific facts.

I really do believe that the basis for wanting to have god-like strength, or those people who run ultra marathons in the mojave desert, is mental illness

the difference between these people and heroine addict is basically just what they're addicted to. I know it sounds kind of absurd, but I have a buddy who does this and he has taken YEARS off the end of his life for it. It's bizarre

Yep

Chef Rush who is at the White House is proof of this. He does 2222 pushups a day and consumes approximately 600 grams of protein each day

The old 20 grams of creatine loading is garbage and outdated practice

Eh, I dunno about that. In the long run it doesn't matter but the saturation gets to the results quicker. That has been proven.

steroids, he's lucky it was only his leg.

It's not just steriods these days. A lot of them take or took a damn witches brew. Insulin, HGH, steroids and tons of nutty supplements.

The nature of pro bodybuilding is fricked up and completely unhealthy, but has nothing to do with high protein or creatine. The ungodly amounts of juice, diretics, insulin and gh is the cause of it. Also many are on pain pills due to not taking time off with injuries.

Being 300lbs is unhealthy no matter the body composition. I know the doctors at barbell medicine disagree with that and they may be right from an internal organ standpoint, but it's so hard on the joints.

Dorian was smart though, as soon as his career was over, he lost a lot of the weight.

Also we are in an age where due to social media, you are asked to look good year around. These physique guys staying cut and hard like they are year around, is a direct result to using compounds that wreck havoc on the lipids and liver.

To conclude, I do not think bodybuilding at that level or powerlifting at an elite level or strongman at an elite level is remotely healthy and I think it's pretty obvious. In flexs case more than likely it was due to insulin and gh use causing diabetes.

But don't blame creatine or high protein, call a spade a spade. The average guy lifting and using creatine and eating 250g of protein and taking care of himself is infinitely healthier than the average American.

I’m sure it does but it’s not necessary to do 20 grams a day or more over a long period of time.

If he loses the other leg, he'll discover how lucky he is to have the last name "Wheeler". Think of all the nicknames.

Lol the only supplements they are taking are the ones to try and help mitigate the side effects of the steroids. Peptides and injectable alcar and other things of that nature aren't supplements, they are drugs with unknown side effects.

Yeah, totally. Kids, if you're thinking of taking a creatine supplement, "Just Say No" and take anabolic steroids instead. The ones that say "Para Caballos" on the box are especially good.

Oh no. It’s like 5 days max or something. After saturation maintenance is the only requirement.

Dorian's body is a wreck. He can't bench press anymore. I never thought I'd say it but I"m stronger than Dorian Yates right now.

Ronnie shows the problem with steroids and other additives.

They allow you to get MUCH stronger and make a yuuuge difference.

The problem is they help you go past the tolerances of your joints and eventually those give out or break down.

Yes sir. And yea many of those guys end up with big joint problems after competition is over, same with powerlifters....why is that because on top of the steroids, many are taking painkillers and don't feel the pain until it's too late.

But I get people like them doing the things they do to be champions. What I don't get is the Boston Lloyd's of the world, the Instagram models of the world and the everyday Joe's using stupid amounts of drugs.

I would be disingenuous to sit here and say steroids should never be used. Even the everyday Joe can use them without problems if done correctly, but I don't understand the mentality of those using them that don't make a living from them.

To me, it's taking huge unnecessary risk like going to Mexico and getting plastic surgery, for something that nobody really cares about. But to me the much bigger issue is not the one cycle a year guys it's the guys that stay on constant for years and years and scream they are fine because they feel fine. Then they drop dead playing catch with their little boy before they are 40 due to a heart attack.

So many on Instagram in the next decade are going to be up a creek without a paddle from the abuse. It's impossible to look hard and ripped year around without drugs. Easily done for a show, but you can't hold it year around or even for months. Blows my mind people are willing to to those things to their body for something they are not being paid for.
