Dallas Man Victim of Noon Armed Robbery in His Front Yard

Oak Cliff Front Yard Robbery Caught on Door Bell Camera

The homeowner was forced to the ground, hit in the face with a gun, and then robbed.
On Wednesday, just after 1 p.m., 52-year-old Jessie Velasquez is seen on home surveillance video tinkering in the yard of his Montclair Avenue home, located in the Winnetka Heights neighborhood of Dallas.
Velasquez was about to step inside for lunch, when suddenly, two armed men wearing masks ambushed him.
“They were asking, ‘Hey, what's inside the house? What do you have in the house? Who’s in the house?’” Martinez explained. “My husband, he had a little bit of money in his wallet and he said, ‘You know what, I have some money in my wallet. Fig in there, just get it and go. Please, just leave.’ I guess he got nervous. He just lifted up, tried to get up, and that's when they hit him in the face with the gun.

Looks like that was a typo

Not a typo, the OP edited the article from the site which caused an error in the context. The person who "stopped" reading then never bothered to read the actual article. Which, as you point out, is clear.

When no description of the perp is provided other than 'teen' or 'man', everyone knows.
Here we have a homeowner relaxing in his front yard.
Oops. He forgot that 13 do 50.
IMO you're constantly in danger if you live near large concentrations of 13 percenters. I used to do that and it sucked. Home security systems, car alarms, everything constantly locked down, pistol in the car, et al. In other words, never able to fully relax.
Best move I ever made was away from the 13 percent. Far away. Never feeling the need to carry a firearm is such a relief.
My county has 1 murder a year for 60k people. Stuff like this never happens. I wonder why this poor majority white area has such low crime? Especially since we're told that poverty is the primary driver of criminal behavior.
