How can someone literally believe the story of Noah's Ark is true?

Its weird that the people that live their lives supposedly based on faith have been searching for proof of this boat for hundreds of years.
On the other hand, it makes sense that people that live their lives based on proof to question it.
The oldest surviving wooden structures are from 7th century Japan and used Japanese hinoki cypress, which is resistant to insects and rot. I dont understand the train of thought of how the timber used for Noahs ark would've survived long enough for a mountain to form on top of it, but if people need hobbies/jobs they are free to knock themselves out.

As for the grift, that’s entirely possible. As I made clear yesterday, while I find this matter interesting, I’m not ready to fully believe, or discount, their work.
Unlike some, namely those who’ve been furiously arguing on every page of this thread since page one, I don’t need this to be, or not be, the actual Noah’s Ark to validate my beliefs.
