Wife and I were discussing a vacation destination. It has been 4 weeks since I looked up information about the destination on my laptop.
Hop on laptop, open facebook and first advertisement is for the destination we just talked about.

I used a family member's new chainsaw last weekend.
It was awesome.
However, I never did any Internet searches at all for chainsaws. I never texted anybody or talked to anybody on the phone about that chainsaw.
When I open my tablet that night, the first ad I see is for that specific chainsaw.

Oh I do, since I do a lot of work with a marketing companies. From an IT side, we use their "features".

No we can. Facebook, google, twitter, etc. tracks the frick out of everyone.
The only way now to stay hidden -
1. pay cash
2. no phone - yes not even a dumb flip phone
3. no smart watch/wearable tracker - no bluetooth period
4. VPN/Tor/disposable computer
Facial recog is still there, but not ready for mass data consumption.
It sucks our privacy is gone.
