She changed me as a whole person.
I will forever be grateful that I know the joy of a daughters laugh and that I get to see her smile almost everyday.
I am a better man because of my daughter; plain and simple.

Actually let my daughter paint my toes, learned ponytail and bun to hell with braiding. I learned I have to be patient and sweet.

I married her mom. I stopped drinking every weekend and went to only drinking on football Saturdays in the fall. Started eating healthier. I started making yearly goals of accomplishments. I started using more of my spare time to do things that would further my career instead of being lazy.
Why is this specific to having a daughter?
When my son was born, I felt a shift in thinking. No longer did I really care about the meaningless crap I wanted. My decisions became focused upon doing things to better our family.
I have a daughter on the way this spring, and now I want to buy guns and fortify the house.

Just turned 15 months. Really made me think about what my priorities are and how I spend my time.

No bullshite, good on you, OP.
Don't have a daughter, but have a son on the way. Looking forward to fatherhood. I'm sure I'll change a lot (and have a lot change for me whether or like it or not

Being a dad to a little girl is the best thing on the planet. I can honestly say that I have changed for the better. I have learned to let shite go. Nothing really gets me PO'ed anymore. I've learned to see the big picture.
And I know every word to Frozen, so I've go that going for me which is nice

Now sitting on the front step sharpening a 5 1/2 foot long sword will get their attention.
They can feel the scrape of that stone in their spine.
Word gets around you're psychotic too :)

I quit smoking.
Now if I want to have a couple beers and watch sports, instead of going to the bar, its at home after her bedtime.
Less shopping at Bass Pro and more shopping at Toysrus.
Know the words to a ton of songs from Disney movies

I'm a lot more patient and calm these days.

I'm a little more emotional now. I work in a CACD unit and used to be really good at compartmentalizing everything. It's a lot harder to do now.

Wait, I always thought girls didn't poo until after they had a kid

Everything hits me in my feels now. Before I wasn't a very emotional person and it took a lot to "get to me". Now a damn commercial can get me choked up.
