I have 6 total ( 4 girls). These last set of twins were a complete surprise. I was 42 and scared to death of the work that was headed my way. It truly has been a blessing. Even now, in the midst of a divorce, they give me hope that the best is still to come.

Soak up every bit of touch. Seriously. Take that naked little baby and plop her on your chest. Those of us fortunate enough to grow old go decades with less skin to skin contact than you will get in the next week. Embrace every bit of grooming, hair brushing, tickling, hugging available to you now.

The best years for a daughter are 5-11 and 18+.

This. Enjoy while you can. You'll look back on these days with tenderness. Getting up to feed your healthy baby at 2am is a blessing.

Cledus, while I understand how you feel right now, let me suggest that because this is all you know, your heart is filled. But as a grandfather, I assure you that many many more good days and times are ahead.
Wait until she looks at you and says "da-da." Or, after taking her first steps, few things will make you feel better than when she runs to you when you get home. Then there's the joy you will feel when the two of you share a significant moment, and she's old enough to understand how special it is. For me and my youngest daughter, we went to the 2003 national championship game together, and we shared, and both understood, the unique and special thrill of that moment.
Also, you will be thrilled for her when she makes the honor roll, joins the band or color guard (flag team). You will beam with pride when she gets the lead in a school play, or becomes the band's drum major. And along the way, you'll find happiness when she says something to a friend, and you'll know that what she says is due to your influence as a good parent.
And wrapping this up, on her wedding day, there's the special love you'll share when you walk her down the aisle, and place her hand in the hand of her groom. You'll know that you did a good job, that she's a fantastic young woman, and that she's chosen a good man. Then you get to start over again from the perspective of being a paw-paw.
I'm not saying it will all be easy. The teenage years may especially be trying, but she will make it through, and so will you. Buckle up; the road ahead is far from smooth, but trust me, you will be glad you traveled it.

I dropped them off at school the other day and my oldest came running back out. I thought, Oh shite, I forgot to pack something. She came up, gave me a big hug, and said, “I forgot to give you a hug and my day would have been ruined if I didn’t come back out here to get one”

I look at my 5 year old daughter and am sad daily. It goes way too fast. Enjoy every second.

Lay off the formula, dude, she’s supposed to grow up
You can rough and tumble with your bb girl - it’ll be ok
Time flies - my oldest (a daughter) just graduated high school - cherish it all

My wife just got pregnant and I was talking to my dad and he said the only advice he had for me was to enjoy it.
Every phase happens once, they’re all different but you have to enjoy each one in its own way.
Idk, felt like good advice. I’ll let you know how I feel about it when the kids here and crying every night.

However, I find myself kind of, I don’t know, sad would be the most succinct way to put it, that she’s growing up. And there ain’t a damn thing I can do about it.

Before you know it, she’ll be twirling on a stripper pole and craving the BBC.

In have two. The best part of the day is when they run to the door when I come home from work.
Do they frustrate and annoy this piss out of me? Yes...but god damn they got me wrapped. Both are daddies girls.
I’ll miss them being this age (3 and 1). But I also won’t miss it

You are so overthinking fatherhood. Enjoy your child and stop judging at this stage. Your insecurities can rub off on your child.

I have a 20 year old son and a 15 year old princess of the world.
When y'all are about to have a second child you wonder if you can possibly love that one as much as you do the first one.
My youngest just got her driver's permit. I still look at her like the dad in this commercial does his little girl.
