In 2008, as Widespread Panic was performing one of its endless jams at the Mud Island amphitheater, Troy Goode began “acting extremely strange,” according to a Memphis police report.
As he was being arrested for disorderly conduct, Goode resisted, hitting a paramedic in the chest and spitting on both a cop and the paramedic. When asked what drug he was on, Goode told police he’d taken LSD, according to the report.
“Suspect was finally subdued and placed in restraints,” the report says. “Suspect was transported to the (Regional Medical Center) and to police for holding.”

Umm, why the hell not?
because I think he had more to do with his death than the cops did.

Thank you. I said this in the thread yesterday but freaking Pax loves it. I bet he's a cool dude, throwing around cool phrases like this.

2008? So he's done the same shite before and didn't learn?

I'm not sure I can find blame with the cops.
They hog tied him and strapped his head face down into a mattress for hours to the point he couldn't breathe.
That's absurd
They straight suffocated him. There are probably hundreds of thousands of incidents of cops not killing people having bad trips.

I ate 7 hits of acid that night at about 4 AM when I was already fricked up and lost my damn mind. Lost my shoes, tore my shirt to shreds somehow, and my friends finally found me about 24 hours later in a warehouse area of downtown Memphis.
Its the most interesting story of my life

I'm just saying that his "freaking out" (jumping out of the car, letting the police dog out of the cruiser etc) led to his untimely death. Along with him being asthmatic. He was also apparently doing fine when he arrived at the hospital and died a couple hours later.

He obviously did not obey the cops. Like Garner, he deserved this, right. One less disobeyer on the streets .
And what kind of father is out doing drugs are at night?

Guy is definitely not faultless, but hog tying a guy for 2 hours with his face strapped downwards into a mattress in a suffocating position seems a bit stupid to me.

He got fricked up and acted crazy. Who was he hurting? Was he robbing someone or inflicting violence on anyone?

What does this matter if he, was indeed, strapped face down into a mattress for 2 hours?

Article said they had spectators film it.

Damn this dude did basically the same thing seven years ago but didn't die. He likes to play stupid games UNTIL he gets the stupid prize. Gotta admire his persistence.

First off, there is no such thing as "positional asphyxiation". Secondly, in this day and age where we can't go 5 minutes without some video of alleged police transgression being blasted on the interwebs, where is this damning video evidence?

So strapping someone's head face-down into a gurney mattress with a sheet on it wouldn't asphyxiate them? Isn't that the same as holding a pillow over someone's face?

Maybe they weren't attention seekers and gave it to the police department for investigation?
