Easy, I'm not sure a beta like this can handle the cyber assault.

When I worked at Academy, we had this lady who would come in a couple times a month and constantly bring up her late husband in order to get a discount. At first, we helped her out but then it just became disgusting. She'd come in with her daughter and tell us how times were tough and try to find new managers or new supervisors who hadn't heard her story before.

I was drunk in the fried chicken line at the local gas station late night and this italian frick tried to cut the line saying he had his taxi running outside. I didn't even have to open my mouth. The entire line of african americans completely freaked on him. It was great.

This reminds me of my Monday morning flight. I get on the plane (regional jet with a one and two setup) and there is a woman with her two kids, both under two, in my seat and the one next to it.
Hold up....she was going to fly with two kids and her....in one seat?

Trying cutting in line at the Brothers near canal, and you'll get cut. That chicken is worth the wait.

I would let someone dying of cancer cut in front of me and I would glad they asked so I could do them that favor, shame on you!

Those who would cause a confrontation and further delay to avoid a reasonable and ultimately preferential alternative just to show up some woman and her kids probably doesn't have much going on in their life.
I've never once met and alpha that went around telling everyone he was an alpha, btw. Something to consider if you plan to keep up the facade.

I am, who seriously wouldn't do that?

I don't fly for work though. Anytime I fly it's with money I paid for that seat and I'm usually wanting to get to my destination in a timely manner. I always have my boarding pass handy as well...in case someone tries to dispute where I'm sitting at. When I'm flying my time is valuable to me. I already have the inconvenience of dealing with flight delays, etc. Some woman WITHOUT A BOARDING PASS trying to claim she is in her right seat? Yeah, don't care. I'm calling the flight attendant, standing my ground and booting her out the seat and going about my traveling. Why is a woman trying to fit two kids under two all in her lap anyways?

I travel for work. I was paid to fly and I did not pay for the flight. I wasn't going to the beach or home, and I wasn't missing anything I wasn't already missing due to the original delay. All these are normal considerations that normal people can process in a short amount of time to make a decision. You would have said no to $400, and delayed the flight to the point that you wouldn't have gotten to where you were going any sooner, all for...pride?
I got paid $400 for 45 minutes. I've frequently accepted an offer for a voucher to take a later flight if the amount exceeds the value of my time.
You would have caused more of a delay. And most people can handle the "stress" of flying when they do it enough. It was a truly insignificant situation to me. Perhaps I am more realistic about the value of my time.
This is also a consideration. The airline obviously had a hand in it, so I didn't put the full blame on her.
It was two seats. That was pretty clearly described.

well, I did do that
but not because she claimed to be dying of cancer
..but because she is a senior citizen
...and she did have just a few groceries, and I was not in a rush
what did claiming to have a terminal illness have anything to do with not wanting to wait in line? She wasnt handicapped, wasnt out of breath, wasnt in a rush....had NO problem perusing thru People magazine while waiting in line
should we have a Standard Checkout, an Express Checkout, and a Terminal Illness checkout line?
the fact of the matter is, she just didnt want to wait in line, and she leads with "I'm dying" - it's a bit disingenuous

No need for explanations. You did what you felt was the right thing to do.
