The theater was nearly empty. Both parties could have moved.

But throwing a man’s own popcorn in his face is pretty shitty…as is using your cell phone during a movie.

I file this one under “a-hole FAFO”.

it was during the previews. Movie had not started - he was texting their baby sitter I think. He had actually put it away by the time the old man got back from trying to tattle on him to management but he had to pop off again about it instead of just letting it go.

Old man wouldn’t quit yelling at him about it and the guy lost his temper.

Old man was guilty as frick- he could have de-escalated at any time but knew he had that piece on him so it gave him the right to play theater cop. frick that boomer he should die in jail.

Won't be popular, but this is an example of why I don't necessarily carry around a gun everywhere. Maybe old dude would have just shut up and dealt with the bullshite if he hadn't known he had that gun to fall back on. That sucks in its own way, but it would have spared him the murder trial and a lot of sleepless nights.

As a juror, you're not voting guilty because you think that may be the case.

100% - I hope taking that father away from his children haunts that old bastard until his last breath.

I’ve been in theaters before and moved because someone was talkative etc. - old man escalated and escalated until the guy reacted and then shot him for it. If he was SOOO scared of this guy why did he keep popping off at him? I don’t go around picking fights with guys bigger than me. That gun gave him all the courage he needed.

Most likely scenario in todays world is they all pull out their phones. No one is diffusing shite.

And the location shouldn’t matter. If I’m being cornered and threatened in a movie theater us no diff than at a grocery store, out at a park, on your own property.

So?

Maybe shite heads would think twice about being shite heads to the weaker among is if they considered the possibility they’re packing.

Sounds like mother fricker got “equalized”.

Maybe he’ll look up from wherever he is and wonder if leaving his wife and children was worth feeling like a bad arse to an old man.

My other thought is that this is an example of how poor a substitute concealed carry is for open carry. If either of these men had been visibly armed, they likely would have both behaved better.

I am a believer in open carry. I really question concealed carry. There is no reason to prefer the latter other than the feelings of suburban wimps.

Who he texted or what part the showing was at is not relevant. Nor is it if the old man popped off again. He literally could have told the old man to shut it and then ignored him. Could have moved to a different section. No matter how much shite someone talks, you never gain the right to throw things at them and bow up to them. You can, but you enter the unknown at your own risk and it didn't work out for this dude.

You can complain about the circumstances with the cell phone and who should have let it go. All that goes out the window after the cell phone gets thrown and there’s a motion in the dark that reasonably looks like a punch is coming to the face. No one is required to eat a punch that could cause death or great bodily injury. His decision to draw and fire in self defense was made in that instant.

The dildo of consequences did not arrive lubricated that day.

Now this I agree with. Old man isn't responsible enough to carry a gun around. It should be used only for protection/self defense due to circumstances beyond your control.

Only one person died and it wasn’t the boomer.

He was also found not guilty as frick.

Which is really too bad.

You see, the world has turned to absolute shite because people have completely lost their fear.

The world is full of people who think they can act like savages and get away with it.

Overkill in this situation?

Don't fking care.

We are at a tipping point and one less selfish a-hole in the world is fine with me.
