Just looked this up. The average NBA attendance is 17,760 a game.
The average WNBA attendance per game is 6,535.
I'm actually surprised it's that many that show up for the gals version of basketball.

I don't want Griner to suffer in a gulag, but why would anyone care enough to show up for a player on the visiting team? There's no hook. She played stupid games and won stupid prizes.

It's like, it's like they have zero self awareness
They never seem to get it through their heads that the WNBA is not marketable.
Imagine a business that despite getting around $15 Million/year in subsidies, a TV contract that only exists because the NBA forces the networks to broadcast it, and endless no cost promotion from ESPN, failing to turn a profit in 27 years.
Now imagine the employees of that business appearing on a radio or television interview nearly every Goddamn week to bitch about not getting a 50% revenue share and equal pay.
That level of the failure is absolutely mind-blowing.

The biggest gripe about Griner isn't about her directly - although she's a reprehensible human being.
When the LIV tour issue first broke, I was told be the media and posters on here that all those golf pros (mostly white) were literally the worst human beings on Earth for taking blood money from the Saudis. Yet, not a single one has ever questioned why she was taking money from Putin's oligarch buddies for six years.
And, we know from this board's Ukraine war topic, if you don't burn Putin in effigy in your front yard daily or haven't repainted your house blue and yellow you have committed a moral sin equivalent to bayoneting Ukrainian babies. So, why the lack of outrage over Griner's Putin boot-licking???
