I'm picking up 40 lbs live at L&L Seafood off 45 in Houston tomorrow at $2.29/lb.
And it's not just Texans who don't know shite about boiling crawfish. I was back in BR last weekend boiling crawfish with friends and had a guy from Lockport rant on and on about his TRIED AND TRUE method of boiling them in plain water for 5 minutes, cutting off the heat and pouring on 3 canisters of salt, letting them soak for 5 minutes, then dumping on the table, and sprinkling Tony Chachere's all over them.
It took all my Mom's upbringing and stressing manners not to laugh in his face and tell him he was a disgrace to the good coonass name. This dude has a thick accent and everything. Don't know shite about cooking good bugs.

Boil House is the best I've had in Houston, just behind my own.

They don't need an excuse. Just cause you live in Louisiana doesn't mean you're entitled to cheap crawfish.

I paid $6.99/lb cooked in bossier last Sunday. Idgaf what the prices are. The higher the better to keep the trash from eating them.

I just made a post over on the poli-board about how goat fricking was the most offensive thing I'd seen on TD. This post literally just surpassed it.
How does someone frick up a boil so badly?
And just so I am not talking out of my arse, I will explain how I do it, and let the experts correct me. Place vegetables and sausage in pot with appropriate spices, boil, add crawfish, boil some more, kill the heat, let them have a nice soak to absorb flavor (time based upon how spicy desired), then serve directly on to table upon newspaper. Absolutely no spice sprinkled on top.

Blows my mind how many "conservatives" on here bitch about a free market. Crawfish are expensive you say? Perhaps that has something to do with the extraordinary demand?
